New classrooms for Selwyn College
This Government is investing around $153 million in school property across greater Auckland as part of Budget 2016 local MP Simon O’Connor says.
“Here in Tamaki, I’m happy to say this funding means 14 new roll growth classrooms that were identified at Selwyn College in 2015 can be completed,” Mr O’Connor said.
“This new investment follows nearly a quarter of a billion dollars over the past two years to upgrade and grow Auckland schools.
“National is making sure we are getting ahead of future demand and accommodating growth now, rather than leaving it until later.
“More than a third of New Zealand’s population lives in the Auckland region. So it’s important our schools have the capacity to deal with roll growth and have flexible spaces to support innovative learning environments for students.
“I’m proud to say that National will be delivering more than 17,000 new student places in Auckland by 2019,” Mr O’Connor said.
